Brenda Kae Rumler
Peoria - Brenda Kae Rumler, 71, of Peoria, IL, formerly of St David, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 5th, 2020 at 3:57pm at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. Born on February 11th, 1949 in Canton, IL to George W. and Elizabeth (Shaw) Lidwell, she married Randal L. Rumler on August 22nd, 1970 in Canton, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Danielle (Steven) Herrmann of Menomonee Falls, WI and her son Ryan (Lauren) Rumler of Washington, IL; Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Herrmann, Gabriel Alexander Herrmann, Anna Marie Rumler, and Grace Kathleen Rumler, and a twin sister, Barbara (Albert) Graves of Slidell, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Brenda was raised and attended grade school in St. David, IL and graduated from high school in Lewistown, IL in 1967. Brenda also graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in business education.
Brenda worked as an educator at St. David Grade School District 87 for 25 years, from 1972 through 1997 and at Lewistown Unit District 97 from 1997 until she retired in 2005.
Brenda was a member of PEO Chapter CB in Cuba, IL. She served as secretary and chaplain for the Fulton County Retired Teachers Association. She successfully completed 2 years of training in the Teacher's Leadership Academy in 2000. She also served as a Sunday School teacher at St. James Episcopal Church in Lewistown and served on the vestries of St. James and St. Peters Episcopal Church in Canton, IL, and on the greeting team at Summit Point Church in East Peoria, IL.
Brenda had a passion for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and spent her life making sure that all of her family and friends would spend eternity with her in heaven. She loved shopping, flowers, and traveling, especially in the Caribbean with her sister, brother-in-law, and husband. Brenda loved people and never knew a stranger. Her treasure was in her family and in the cross. God's light was always shining through her, and she made all who met her feel loved and special. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to cross her path.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Due to Covid-19 mandates a mask will be required.
Burial will be held immediately following the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton,
Memorials may be made to Summit Point Church in East Peoria, IL.
