In loving memory of

Peggy J. Krejci
October 24, 1932 - September 1, 2020

Peggy J. Krejci, loving wife and mother passed away September 1, 2020 at the age of 87. The daughter of John and Wyolene Bundrick, she was born October 24, 1932 in Albany Georgia. An accomplished student and athlete, Peg was salutatorian of the 1950 graduating class of Albany High School.
She met the love of her life, a young fighter pilot named Ron, at Turner Air Force Base in 1952. Peg was proud to be an executive secretary at both General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) and Sun Beam in Georgia and Illinois, but being a military wife was her passion. Together, they moved 15 times before retiring to Tellico Village in 1990. It was during these tumultuous re-locations that she calculated that two military moves equaled one house fire. She loved to laugh and her sense of humor and spirit carried her and her family through the trials of a life of military service. Wherever she lived, Peg was actively involved in service organizations and community activities. She was always a member of the Officer's Wives' Club, a committed Thrift Shop volunteer, led Air Force installations welcoming committees, and was a long time Red Cross volunteer. She was an avid bowler in many competitive leagues and a skilled bridge player as well.
Peg Krejci loved to read. She shared that love of reading with her children, teaching both to read before they entered school and later volunteered her time to teach reading to adults. She began volunteering at the Tellico Library when it was located within the Yacht Club and remained a dedicated volunteer for 25 years. Peg was President of the Tellico Garden Club and a member of the Tellico Village Community Church Choir. Her bright spirit and caring personality brought sunshine to wherever she was and she left each place a little better than it was before she came. She was an exceptionally strong and determined woman who always had an encouraging word and a friendly smile. The heavens gained a fiercely devoted woman to join their legion of Angels.
She is survived by Ronald J. Krejci, her loving husband of over 66 years; their daughter Karen and husband Jim Jones of Phoenix Arizona and their son Kyle; son David and his wife Nancy of Severna Park Maryland; her sister Annice Bennett of Florida and multiple nieces and nephews.
Peg will be interned at the Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of Tellico Village Library, 300 Irene Lane, Loudon, Tenn.
Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Krejci family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.
