Shirley Susan Mattioli
June 21, 1935 - September 8, 2020

On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 Shirley Susan Mattioli, loving wife and mother passed away at the age of 85. She touched so many lives and she will live on in our hearts forever.

Born on June 21, 1935 in Noranda, Quebec, Canada, Shirley was the daughter of the late Louis and Jessie Sabo. She attended Noranda High School and was named Valedictorian of the Class of 1954. Following high school, she taught in a rural one-room schoolhouse for the Province of Quebec. She was a champion figure skater in her youth and won many awards and scholarships. She was also a writer for her local newspaper in Quebec with her own column called Shopping with Shirley. In 1968, Shirley, her husband and children moved to King of Prussia, PA. She taught skating at Lafayette Skating Club in King of Prussia for many years while raising her children. Shirley was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Shirley loved decorating and collecting cookbooks. Sweets were her favorite and she was passionate about music and singing. Shopping with her daughters was a favorite pastime. She enjoyed meeting people, especially on her travels with her husband. Her grandchildren will remember her energetic nature and love of life. We will all remember her love of laughter and the ability to make people smile.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Terrence Mattioli. She is the loving mother of Jodi Lattanze (husband Mark) of Audubon and Christine Roberts of Ambler. She is the dear sister of Judy Raymo (husband Larry) of Ontario, Canada. She was predeceased by her loving son Mark Mattioli, and her brothers Howard and Robert Sabo. Shirley was the proud and loving grandmother of Anthony, Kara, Nicolas, Matthew and Liam and great grandmother of Althea and Felix.

A private service for relatives will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 with Pastor Ryan Balsan officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ambler, PA.
