In loving memory of

Susan Kary
June 15, 1956 - September 9, 2020

Kary, Susan "Suzi"
Muskegon, Michigan

Susan "Suzi" Marie Penzien Kary, age 64, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 9, 2020, rejoining with her beloved husband, Phillip (Phil) "Crazy" Kary, mere days after his own passing on August 23, 2020.

Suzi, as she was affectionately known to friends and family, was born in Bay City, MI on June 15, 1956 to Carlton "Baird" Penzien & Helene "Pat" (Moore) Saylor. From the moment she entered the world, Suzi possessed a warm, gentle, and loving disposition that persisted, despite all odds, her whole life long. As a child Suzi had a passion for dance, and even in recent years with a walking cane in hand, she was not shy about stepping out in a storm to dance in the rain.

Suzi and Phil married on July 30, 1983 and spent their 37 years together actively participating in the local drag racing scene, working on racing cars, socializing at the Lithuanian Club, and being among friends with the Muskegon Outriders. Following a 20-year career with Muskegon County government offices, Suzi retired in 1998. She was an avid hammered dulcimer player with a great love for music and a proud rescuer of cats.

Above all else, Suzi had a deep love of family and a knack for becoming fast friends with anyone she met. Her bold, kind, and imaginative spirit will be so greatly missed by all who knew her.
