In loving memory of

Albert J. DiSalvio, Sr.
August 8, 1958 - September 13, 2020

Albert J. DiSalvio, Sr., passed suddenly on September 13th, 2020, of Bellmawr, NJ. Age 62. Beloved husband of Regina (nee Gmaz). Devoted father of Kathleen Coluzzi (Matthew), Rosemary DiSalvio (Elijah), and Albert DiSalvio Jr. (Emily Kaschak). Loving grandfather of Willow, Paisley and Paige. Dear brother of Michael DiSalvio (Linda) and brother-in-law of Mary King (Charles), Nancy Gmaz, Joseph Gmaz (Jackie), and Debbie Keller (Jim). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Al was a heart transplant recipient who lived six years glorifying his donor. Al was a master chef- always cooking his famous Sunday Gravy, barbequing and entertaining for his family and friends. Al was the Food Service Director for the St. Pius Retreat of the Camden Diocese for over 10 years. His love for cooking brought his family together for every holiday surrounded by good times and good food.

Al had a special way of knowing everyone so personally, developing into great relationships through his unique brand of humor and guiding advice. He was a devoted and loving husband to Regina, together 42 years and married for 39, and would do anything for her. They met when they were both 19 years old, experiencing a love-at-first-sight moment while Al was DJing at DiSalvio's Bar, setting the stage for what became a, "best friends" for life relationship.

Al was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, loved going to sports games with Albert Jr. and his son in law Matt. He loved his dogs, Hannah and Zoie, and always lit up the room with his positive and reassuring energy.Among his many interests as a Sci-Fi Enthusiast and History Buff included attending car shows, his daily comical Facebook posts and walking the trails of Batsto and the Pine Barrens.

Above all, he was the best Pop Pop in the world. He played with his grandchildren Willow, Paisley and Paige for endless hours and babysat any chance he got. He was extremely proud of his children, Rose and Kathleen, both amazing mothers and his confident son Al Jr., scheduled to be married in early 2021. He was a best friend to all his nieces and nephews. Al leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love and an incredible commitment to family. The world lost a one of kind, selfless, charismatic man. An angel on earth and now one forever.

There will be a viewing from 7pm to 9pm Thursday, September 17th at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass will be at 10am Friday, September 18th at St Joachim Parish, Annunciation BVM Church, Bellmawr.

Interment is private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's memory to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
