Danielle "Lady" Schmitz, 74 of Gladbrook, IA passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020 at the church. Interment will be at Crystal Cemetery in rural Toledo, IA. The family requests everyone to wear a mask to the visitation and service. Danielle Marie Schmitz was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 4, 1946 to Daniel and Faye (Fisicaro) Muck. She graduated from Omaha South High School in 1964. Danielle worked at St. Joseph Hospital for several years in the medical records department. She was united in marriage to Terry on October 20, 1973. In 1974 they moved to Gladbrook. After moving to Gladbrook, she became a stay at home mom and a homemaker. Danielle was also the secretary and treasurer for Schmitz Construction for 34 years. Along with those duties Danielle was also the secretary for Eastbrook Apartments, and the secretary and treasurer for Gladbrook Legion and Gladbrook Memorial Building for 12 years. Danielle also worked for the Northern Sun Print Newspaper. She enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening, and was well known for her tomato juice. Danielle also loved animals. Her family was everything to her and she loved her grandkids very much.
Danielle is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, David (Jenny) Schmitz, Mark (Anna) Schmitz; siblings, Carla (Daelynn) Schmitz of Omaha, NE, Marianne (Steve) Wagaman of Omaha, NE, David (Denise) Muck of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Meghan, Myah, Tyler, Aiden, Wilken, and Theo. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Teri Lynn and parents.
