In loving memory of

Beatrice T Derousselle
June 22, 1925 - October 9, 2020

Beatrice was born on June 22, 1925 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to the late Clebert Thomas and Louise Alexander Thomas. In early 1942, she met the man of her dreams, Joseph Clinton Derousselle and they were united in marriage September 22, 1943. Through this union the happy couple moved to Fifth Ward Houston, Texas also known as the French Town Creole Capital.

An Angel of the Lord came and took Beatrice to her heavenly home on October 9, 2020.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She worked as a Housekeeper several decades for Dr. Rhey Walker, MD and family. Her passion for cooking special dishes would often lead to a family gathering with a question during dessert time - Anyone up for a game of Pitty Pat? When not playing Pitty Pat with her family she opted for a BINGO outing or a bus ride to a Louisiana Casino.

She was blessed with two daughters Camilla "Ann" (Wesley, Jr.), Anita "Renee" and seven sons Earl (Evola), Lester "Big Red", Robert Lee (Tommie), Joseph "Clint", Michael, Tracy (Priscilla) and Henry "Charles" (Mary), 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She grew up with one sister Odelia Thomas-Glover, and five brothers Sostan, Robert, James, John and Lazire Thomas.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Derousselle, her son Lester "Big Red", parents Clebert and Louise Thomas, grandson Wesley Berard, III, granddaughter Shameka Anderson-Derousselle and all her brothers and sister.

"From Bessie Hartford and JW Peavy Senior Center our condolences to the Derousselle Family. Those we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings into infinity. Our prayers are that you find strength and remember death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal so celebrate the long and full life she lived until you can reunite again."
