"I was so glad as a child when Uncle John and Aunt Nellie brought their family for a visit. There were lots of kids to play with. I was 17 when Gerald was born. Soon after that, Aunt Nellie needed some surgery, so Gerald came to stay with my family for a while. I learned very well how to take care of baby boys. It only helped a little when I had six daughters, but I always remembered how wonderful it felt to hold a baby. After I got married, I only saw Gerald occasionally at family gatherings. He was always so handsome and good natured. I wish Uncle John and Aunt Nellie could have lived longer to see their children's accomplishments. They would be so proud. I am proud of all of them and love them, too. My love and prayers for all the family. Cousin (Elizabeth) Joan Braspenninx McCarty "
