Donald S. Krukow
January 7, 1931 - October 20, 2020

Donald S. Krukow, 89, of Dumont, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born January 7, 1931, in Franklin County, Iowa, to Fred and Helen (Huffman) Krukow.

Don graduated from Hansell High School. He was united in marriage to Louise Krukow and to this union, eight children were born. They later divorced. He then met Carol DeBuhr and they shared many years together until her death in 2013. Don was a truck driver and was proud to have driven for 69 years. He pulled for CRST and was owner/operator of his own truck. He hauled hogs and grain. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his children Donald Krukow of Marshalltown, Dennis (Jackie) Krukow of Lexington, South Carolina, Dawn (Ken) Stanbrough of Ackley, Darla (Doug) Krukow of Dumont, Darwin (Pam) Krukow of Newton and Daralyn Krukow of Fulton, Missouri; daughter-in-law Kathy Krukow of Waverly; 29 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; brothers Frank (Yvonne) Krukow of Sheffield, Carl (Pauline) Krukow of Clear Lake and Harley (Linda) Krukow of Iowa Falls; and step-children David, Brenda (Kevin), Lori (Robert), and Debbie (Jimmie); and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Donna Krukow, son Doug Krukow, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, brother Ken Krukow, sisters Arlene Thompson and Lola Leer and stepdaughter Marva Jo.

A public visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont. Those in attendance will be required to wear a mask. Burial will take place in the Dumont Cemetery.
