"I met Mrs. Ahee when I became pastor of Our Lady Sar of he Sea. She was a most remarkable woman: extremely kind and generous to a fault coupled with a warm, gracious and shinning personality. She was always most kind to anyone who encountered her. I attended many of the events she and her family sponsored for the Cappuchin Soup Kitchen outreach to the poor at Comerica Park. Those were great events benefitting the hungry, homeless and less fortunate through the Cappuchin Soup Kitchen. I truly believe Bettejean Ahee is home now with God who created her in His image. She is with her husband and those members of her family who proceeded her into the Kingdom of Heaven. Her good works and deeds go before her as a testament to her love of God and those God gave her. May she rest now in the peace of Jesus Christ. Fr. Ken Kaucheck "
"To the Ahee family Janice and my sincerest condolences. Your mother was truly a remarkable individual and carried your family name with exceptional grace and dignity. She was very fortunate and took obvious joy and satisfaction in being able to observe the Ahee descendents probably carrying the family tradition in business and philanthropy in the tradition established by her and Edmund. It's been a privilege to know each of them. Janice and Marty Leavitt"
"I send my sympathy and condolences to the Ahee family. My heart is very saddened at the passing of your mom/grandma. Your mom/grandma was one of the most classiest ladies I know, always kind, always thoughtful, always so warm and friendly. She was gracious and treated everybody with kindness, love and respect, no matter who you were. I was so grateful to have gotten to know your mom/grandma well and consider it not only a blessing, but a gift of her from God as a role model for me. I will miss her as whenever I saw her she would always show such warm affection and endearment. She was an icon in the community and will be truly missed. May you keep the wonderful memories in your heart and the good times that will bring smiles and laughter. Bev Ballew"

"It is very hard for me today to say good-bye to Bettejean who I have known and admired for > 65 years. We were back door neighbors, Ed gave me my first job as a Christmas stock boy at the Mercury Lanes store, I bought my wife?s engagement ring at the Mack store and many other wonderful pieces over the years dealing with Pam and her brothers. Both of my sons followed suite with engagement ring purchases. We remain inspired by the family?s support for the downtrodden among us. Bettejean, a beautiful lady with a life well-lived."
"Dearest Ahee Family, We reminisce about fond memories of happy times, living as neighbors and raising young families together. Bettejean was a woman great in her faith, intelligence, resolve, and perseverance. Her warm smile reflected a kind, thoughtful, and gracious heart. She carried herself with both an elegance and humility that reflected her beauty, both inside and out. Bettejean was a beloved beacon to the community whose light will continue to shine through her philanthropy and the legacy of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We extend our sincere condolences to the entire family, Tom and Carol Cracchiolo and Family"
"My late parents became engaged and were married in January, 1957. They purchased their wedding bands from Edmund Ahee Jewelers, who had set up a card table in the corner of Mercury Lanes bowling alley. Both their marriage and Ahee Jewelers enjoyed decades of success and prosperity. Thank you for all you added to the Metro Detroit community."
