In loving memory of

Samuel L. Poston
January 13, 1935 - November 4, 2020

Samuel L. Poston, age 85, of Clinton, TN passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. He was born in Midville, GA on January 13, 1935 to his late mother, Margaret (Maggie) LaFaver Poston. All of Samuel's siblings preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy P. Calvert (John); grandson, Samuel P. Calvert (Kate); granddaughter, Julie Calvert; great grandchildren, Megan, Jonathan, Breana, Lane and Grant; his beloved Rosie- 7 year old Wheaton Scottie; and last but not least his wife of 61 plus years, Charlotte Spoon Poston.
He served his four year apprenticeship and schooling in Orlando and Daytona Beach, FL. He enjoyed working in the warm climate. Sam worked at ORNL X10, Oak Ridge for 30 years as a sheet metal journeyman. He loved what he did. He and Charlotte traveled while he was in good health but when his health started failing he was unable to do so. Sam had to sell the house he worked so hard to build and had to move over to a one level home in Mariner's Point. We were lucky and found the nicest community with people who care about each other.
Sam was a very private person and requested that no services be held. We would like to thank all the workers from Amedisys Hospice of Oak Ridge and Quality Care in Knoxville for all their help in taking such good care of him. In lieu of flowers if you wish to make a donation in Sam's honor please do so to your favorite charity. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Poston family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.
