"So I am still coming to grips with the loss of my Oldest brother, it's pretty hard to believe that he is gone. Doug lived life "wide open" and as his youngest brother the crazy/fun things that he got us all involved in are a source of endless stories. Doug is responsible for my life long love of convertibles as his 1964 1/2 red Mustang was the first ragtop I ever road in. He pushed me to wrestle which led to me coaching the sport that we both loved. He encouraged through his ample example to live life to the fullest and I am reminded whenever he crosses my mind to squeeze as much out of this life as humanly possible because he certainly did. Thank you Doug and ride on"

"It took me a while to come to grips with the loss of my brother Doug. Mike Hall's recollection of riding on Doug's shoulders on Mike's Kaw brought me back to how Doug lived life at the fullest and truly died with his boots on. There is nothing Doug enjoyed more than throwing his leg over an American V-twin and listening to her sing a few verses. Anybody that rode with Doug knew there was no way of knowing what to expect next. While I did not witness Mike on Doug's shoulders with the Z-1 at what I am sure was full song I did witness the Hall boys "skiing" behind Doug's 45 trike on Dad's frozen pond in the dead of winter. You could see the roostertails of snow and hear the cackles of laughter all the up in my Dad's yard. I don't know where you ended up but I am sure that added to the soundtrack is the butterfly wide open on the '59 panhead beneath you with a deafening roar coming from the fishtail pipes. Ride free brother. Dave Schaidle "

"Carla?s and my prayer?s are with the all the Schaidle family. Then I have to tell a story. Scuzz and I were working 3rd shift at cat and he was riding to work with me on my Kawasaki. We got off work at 7in the morning and went to the bars. Well I got fairly drunk so I was letting scuzz pilot and he had already dropped it twice. So we started heading home and we?re going down 116 past the state cop shop when Scuzzy said climb on my shoulders. Well we always screwed around about that a lot, so I said ok and did it. At the same time some friends of ours named George and Vicky were coming from Metamora and said look at these crazy a##$@&@#. That is one of my favorite memories of Scuzzy"
