Verna Faye Johnson, age 79 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully November 12, 2020. Verna was happy go lucky and loved to dance. She was a joy to be around, She worked at Hillcrest South nursing home and at Key Safety Systems where she retired.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ronnie; daughter, Kimberly; sisters, Louise Sprouse and Juanita Lane; brother, James D Johnson.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Tona (Ralph) Anderson; sons, Mark (Kathy) Johnson and Luke Johnson; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Johnson; brother, EJ Johnson; many cousins she was raised with; several nieces and nephews. Special thank you to niece Martha Baker and Asbury Nursing Home staff. At Vernie's request there will not be a service. "Debbie Spencer, Vernie and Ronnie Johnson had 4 children, Tona, Kim, Mark, and Luke. Tona has 2 boys, Casey and Kagan, Kim didn't have any children, Mark has 3 children, Curtis, Aaron, and Heather, Luke has 2 children Daylen and Bella. That makes 7 grandchildren total. Out of those grandchildren, Curtis has 2 boys, Aiden and Carter, Aaron has 3 children, Keifer, Madison, and Aleister, and Heather has 4 children, Caitlyn, Lilli, Elijah, and William, Casey has 1 boy, Maxx, and Kagan has 1 boy, Khalil. Those are the great grandchildren which equals 11. "

"Vernie is my husband's(Curtis Johnson) grandmother. She was a happy lady and she loved babies. She actually has 11 great grandchildren and not 8. Caitlyn, 18, Aiden, 16, Lilli, 14, Elijah, 12, Maxx, 12, Keifer, 9, Madison, 7, William, 6, Carter, 3, Khalil,2, and Aleister, 2. Vernie was also an animal lover. Those who knew her saw the love she had in heart. She will be missed and may she now rest in peace. "
