Frances was born December 18, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Matthew Dallas Smillie and Bessie LeDell (nee Sweet) Smillie. Beloved mother of Audrey Thomas of Roseville and Shirley (Timothy) Callaghan of Eastpointe. Loving Grandmother of Justin (Michelle) Defer and Daniel (Jillian) Callaghan. Proud great-grandmother of Alliana, Benjamin and Maeve. Cherished friend of Alva Traylor. Dear sister of the late Robert Smillie.
Frances graduated from Denby High School. After high school she stayed interested in history and trivia. Frances liked music and loved to dance any chance she got. She was always an animal lover. More than anything, Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A private committal services will take place.
