Sharon "Jean" Vicary, 78, of Brimfield, passed away at 5:59 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born November 19, 1941, to Willis and Mildred (Baldwin) Hargrave in Equality, IL.
She married Frank Vicary on September 12, 1959 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She is survived by five children, Mark Vicary of Elmwood, Jeff Vicary of Brimfield, Todd (April) Vicary of Elmwood, Cara (Andrew) Aquino of Milwaukee, WI, and Emmie (Will Mullens) Vicary of Brimfield; one sister, Shirley "Joan" Cody; and nine grandchildren, Chance, Michael, Mitchell, Mackenzie, Christopher, Victoria, Makayla, AJ, and Connor.
Jean was a homemaker and worked for the Catholic Social Services and the Department of Children and Family Services as a foster parent taking care of 150 children over the course of 30 years.
To our loving mother and grandmother, we are deeply saddened by your loss but we find comfort knowing you are at Peace with the Lord. We love you, we miss you, and we will treasure our memories of you until we meet again.
A private service will be held with immediate family only with a burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Elmwood Educational Fund, memo to: Kimi Pettit or Keith LaFollett.
