"I knew Verlin as an extremely valuable employee and an honorable man. We worked together for several years at Bush Hog in Fort Dodge and we had maintained our friendship over the past many years after we both left that company. We spoke often by phone and about every couple of months my wife, Becky, and I would meet with him in Storm Lake and enjoy a lunch and a couple of hours of catching up conversations. Verlin was a pleasant and energetic friend who loved sharing about his kids and grandkids. He was proud and happy with them and enjoyed telling us all about their latest adventures. Verlin was a true friend. Becky and I will miss him terribly. It was my honor and privilege to have known him and shared his life for many years."
