Franklyn Waldvogel
November 9, 1932 - November 25, 2020

Franklyn Clement Waldvogel, of Phlox, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 88 years old. He was born on November 9, 1932, in Mattoon, a son of Edward and Lorna (Koch) Waldvogel. He married Joan Marx on September 25, 1976, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox. She survives.

He was a graduate of Mattoon High School in 1950.

Mr. Waldvogel drove truck and did maintenance for Hilger Minnow and Bait Ranch in Hubertus for 50 years. He retired in 2004 and moved to Phlox where he was a member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church.

He was a woodworker having made 127 rocking horses for family and friends. He also hand wove 100 Brothertown Indian belts.

Mr. Waldvogel designed and sewed Franklyn Fishing Nets. He was an all around fix-it technician and a self made engineer for fixing things.

He enjoyed photography, traveling, and visiting family and friends.

Survivors including his wife are a sister, Rosalie (Kevron) Schiro, Antigo; a sister in law, Cindy Waldvogel, Phlox; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria (Rodney) Pagel; a brother, Dennis Waldvogel.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday December 3, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Edmundo Siguenza officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. A parish wake service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
