"Red and Dorie were mentors, caretakers, and friends. I love them both. I was always welcome in Dorie's home no matter what time, rest on the sofa and get yourself something to eat if you're hungry. Dorie patched me up, or gave me medical advice to get me through my mishaps. We talked for hours about world issues, and Letts issues, and laughed about it all. I will always remember her smiling, and starting to laugh. She had a look that said she knew life's troubles weren't as important as life's blessings. Her home was a safe place for me, and her friendship was the same. I will always treasure her."
