Bill E. Miller
March 2, 1940 - December 5, 2020

Billy Eugene Miller, 80, of Hampton, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

Bill was born to Fred and Fannie (Wildeboer) Miller on March 2, 1940, in Hampton, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Hampton. Bill attended Hampton Consolidated School and graduated in 1958.

He joined the Iowa National Guard during his junior year of high school March 2, 1957 until March 1, 1960. Bill then joined the Army Reserve in Mason City March 2, 1960 and attended Non-Com Officer training school at Ft. Carson, Colorado, in December 1962. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve February 28, 1965.

He started farming with his father when he was 14 years old. Bill also helped the neighbors milk cows before and after school.

He married Linda Mae Colglazier on January 27, 1963, in the Methodist Church parsonage in Bethany, Missouri. To the marriage was born 6 children: Pamela (Duane) Brass, Robin Hanson, Robert E. (Jean Schaefer) Miller all of Hampton, Roxane Hassan of Ohio, Shane (Candice) Miller of Mason City and Billie Jo Hughes of Waverly.

He spent his spare time re-finishing tractors, tractor/truck pulling and getting his sons and grandsons involved in tractor pulling. In the 1980/90s, Bill and Linda taught country western dance lessons to many wonderful people; some of which became good friends. He enjoyed farming and his custom baling service and all the great faithful customers he had. Bill enjoyed farming so much he refused to retire.

Bill is survived by his wife, all of his children, 15 grandchildren: Jordan (Cassie Stoneburner) and Bo Brass, Kaiya and Caelan Hassan, Megan (Ben) Abbas, Kirstyn (Jake Gouldner) Hanson, Madison (Cody) Brustkern, Dalton (Carrie) Hanson, Ciera Gunderson, Colten (Corie) and Carlie Miller, Conner and Levi Miller and Keaton and Gabrielle Hughes, 13 great grandchildren: Madden, Gracelyn and Piper Abbas, Avrianna and Royal Brustkern, Winston and Annabelle Hanson, Barrick, Cassidy and Brooks Gunderson, Remi and Belle Gouldner and Elsie Brass, sister Virginia (Sheldon) Pratt, nephew Rod Pratt, nieces Kandi Borcherding, Judy Ratzlaff and Sherry Colglazier, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, parents-in-law and infant sister-in-law, brother-in-law Faye Colglazier and nephew David Colglazier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bill's family at PO Box 403, Hampton, Iowa 50441.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Faith Baptist Church in Hampton.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, those in attendance at both the visitation and service will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
