Barbara Faye Long
November 3, 1934 - November 28, 2020

Barbara passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the home with her daughter and son-in-law in St. Peter, MN on November 28th, 2020. She was born on November 3, 1934 in Lanesboro, MN, the daughter of Louis and Pearl (Knutson) Laganiere.

Barbara attended Lanesboro High school graduating in 1952, after graduation she married Charles "Buster "Berg on September 20, 1952 and moved to Rushford, MN. She worked various jobs in the community. After the death of her husband she moved to Rochester, MN. There she worked several years as Supervisor/ Dispatcher in the housekeeping department for the Kahler Corporation prior to retiring in 2010.

Barbara enjoyed golfing, cooking, vacations with her family and having sleepovers with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed feeding/watching the birds and squirrels in her yard as well as trips to yard sales and thrift stores. Going out to lunch and shopping with her lady friends was also something she enjoyed. Barbara liked visiting on the phone with family and friends. In the fall, she especially enjoyed helping her son-in-law, Rod, cut, split, and stack wood for the winter.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Thomas (Debra) Berg of Pasco, WA and Patricia (Rodney) Forbrook of St. Peter, MN; six grandchildren, Nathan (Stacey) Berg, Melissa (Stephen) Cobb, Erin (Bart) Barrett, Kateri Berg, Jacob (Nicole) Berg, Stefan (Patch) Berg, 11 great grandchildren (with 1 more on the way) and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters, Yvonne (Mike) O'Neil, Michon Pingree, Clorees (Phillip) Haug; one brother, LaMonte "Monty" Laganiere; sister-in-law, Karen Laganiere along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, brothers: Carroll "Bud" and Louis Laganiere; sisters: Constance Laganiere and Gail Bennett; sister-in-law Louise Laganiere and brothers-in law: Keith Pingree and Enoch "Pinky" Bennett. Last but not least, her granddaughter Melissa's shih tzu Maggie Jade, who brought so much happiness and joy to her.

The family would like to thank Ecumen Hospice of Owatonna, MN for their kindness, care and compassion they gave to Barbara and her family throughout this journey. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with a committal service at 1:30 pm at the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
