Marie Visceglia Walker
August 26, 1949 - December 19, 2020


Marie Visceglia Walker, 71, of Matawan passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel.

Born in Manhattan, Marie was raised in New York City and River Edge, later settling in Matawan, where she and her husband Bob enjoyed a beautiful life together. Marie was a Matawan High School graduate.

Prior to her retirement, Marie was employed as a legal secretary at the law office of Robert Thuring, Esq., Spotswood, and then at the law office of James Hyland, Esq. Once they assumed Superior Court Judicial appointments, Marie completed her career at the law office of Henry Chudzik, Esq., East Brunswick.

Marie loved to cook and bake. Her passion was having a party and enjoying food and drink with family and friends. She was the quintessential host who was always prepared to serve an army. She was happiest around family and friends. Marie enjoyed attending concerts and treasured spending gorgeous summer days at the beach. She would often be found in her sand chair at Avon-by-the-Sea, one of her favorites. Marie will always be remembered for her love of family and friends and the precious time spent together. She welcomed anyone and everyone with open arms. Above all, Marie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grammy, aunt and caring friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Predeceased by her brother, Michael Visceglia. Marie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Walker, Sr., her daughter, Martine Walker, son, Robert Walker, Jr., (her desperado), her brother, Tony Visceglia, her grandchildren, Harley Jade Walker, Tanner and Willow Pridemore and countless nieces, nephews and friends.

A committal service will be held graveside, Wed., Dec. 23 at 1:00PM at Greenwood Cemetery, Rte 35 & Old Bridge Road (707 Schoolhouse Road), Brielle, NJ.

Friends and family are invited to the gravesite farewell, keeping socially distanced in accordance with CDC regulations. Masks required.

A celebration of Marie's life will be held at a later date.
