September 10, 1940 - December 22, 2020
Donald George Fehd, 80, of Sheffield, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City. He was born September 10, 1940, in Hampton, to Emil and Velma (Kruse) Fehd.
Don graduated from Hampton High School. He served his country in the United States Army in South Korea during the early 60s. Don was united in marriage to Yong Moon in Seoul, South Korea on January 18, 1965. He farmed in Franklin County, Iowa for many years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. Don loved traveling and seeing new places. He enjoyed hiking and visited numerous National Parks throughout his lifetime. Some of his favorite things were being on the farm and enjoying time with his family. Don also enjoyed the railroad, model trains and feeding wild birds.
Don is survived by his son Keith (Maria) Fehd of Johns Creek, Georgia; daughter Angella (Konrad) Vallard of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters Samantha Fehd of Atlanta, Georgia and Nicole Fehd of Johns Creek, Georgia; sister Lois (Gareld) Johnson of Hampton; along with one niece and several nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Velma Fehd, wife Yong Fehd and daughter Anita Fehd.
Memorials may be directed to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, 232 2nd St SE, Mason City, IA 50401.
Those in attendance are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times during both the visitation and funeral service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton is assisting Don's family.
