March 7, 1945 - November 25, 1999

Robert Jacobsen TIPTON - Robert quot;Bob quot; Arthur Jacobsen, 54, of Tipton, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, after a long term illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at United Church of Christ in Tipton with Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Pall bearers will be Larry Glick, Phillip Hargrave, Robert Harmel, Wally Cawlezell, Jim Clark and Dale Torpey. Nancy Hipple will be the organist. Burial will be at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Sunday, at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A memorial for the Tipton Ambulance and Cedar County Cattlemen has been established. Mr. Jacobsen was born March 7, 1945 at Council Bluffs, the son of Melvin and Wanda Rieck Jacobson. He graduated from Walnut High School in 1963 and Northwest Missouri State in 1967. On June 2, 1967 he married Linda Sue Prior at Council Bluffs. He was the owner/manager of Edler Implement in Tipton since 1985. He was a 4-H leader, officer of the Cedar County Cattlemen, past TEDCO officer, Chamber of Commerce member, FFA supporter, and a member and elder of the United Church of Christ. Survivors include: his wife Linda Jacobsen of Tipton; daughter Nicole Amberson and her husband Dennis of Olathe, Kan.; sons Brandon Jacobsen of Tipton, and Dustin Jacobsen of Lenexa, Kan.; grandson, Griffin Robert Amberson, of Olathe; mother Wanda Jacobsen of Walnut; sisters Sally Engels and her husband Ron of Oak Park, Ill., and Judy Wurster and her husband Jim of Lenox; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Jacobsen in 1987.
