Albert Leon Rudman

Albert Rudman LONE TREE - Albert Leon Rudman, 91, of Lone Tree, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after an extended illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lone Tree. The Rev. Ben Okonkwo and Parish Life Coordinator Carol Kaalberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Sorden Funeral Home in Lone Tree. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Mr. Rudman was born March 5, 1908, in Clinton, the son of Albert Edward and Edith Smith Rudman. He married Gladys Ullrich on June 10, 1937, at Sacred Heart Church in Clinton. He was a volunteer fireman and a city councilman for Nichols for several years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nichols and Lone Tree. He owned Mid-Continental Oil Station in Lone Tree, he had managed Benner T. Grocery Store in Lone Tree, and managed Kent Grain and Feed Co. for 22 years in Nichols. He was a feed salesman for Moorman Manufacturing Co. and was a school bus driver for West Liberty Schools for 10 years. He drove a snow plow for Muscatine County and was a security guard for Louis Rich in West Liberty. Survivors include a wife, Gladys of Lone Tree; a son Bob and his wife, Peg, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a daughter, Betsy Kessler and her husband, Pat of Newton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Mathwig of Mount Carroll, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
