Dorothy Connell MUSCATINE - Dorothy M. Connell, 76, of 1745 N Tipton Rd., died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at the Unity Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at St. Mathias Church, 215 W. Eighth St. The Rev. Bernard Wier will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Pelzer, Dutch Dickey, John Bermel, Brian Connell, David Fuller, Pete Bermel. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Christy Connell, R. J. Connell, Kyle Connell, Kane Connell, Kade Connell, Kale Connell. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Monday by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court of Joan of Arc No. 524. Mrs. Connell was born on July 29, 1923, in Muscatine, the daughter of Richard and Gertrude Kurriger Fuller. She married Robert Connell on April 12, 1944. Mrs. Connell was a member of St. Mathias Church, Catholic Daughters of Americas, Bloomington Grange, County Homemakers, National Shorthorn Lassies Assoc. She was National Shorthorn Lassie of the year in 1984. She worked at Batterson Wessels as a clerk. Survivors include her husband, Robert Connell, of Muscatine; two sons, Jerry Connell and his wife, Lynda, of Muscatine, and Jeff Connell and his wife, Dea, of Stillman Valley, Ill.; six grandchildren; one brother, Richard Fuller and his wife, Dorothy, of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son in infancy.
