Leah Holzhauer DAVENPORT - Leah Holzhauer, 85, of Davenport, died, Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport. Burial will be at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or the Scott County VNA Hospice Association. Mrs. Holzhauer was born on July 27, 1914, in Denhoff, Russia, the daughter of Jacob and Maria Henkle Lichtenwald. She married John Holzhauer on July 21, 1934, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was employed as a professional cake decorator from 1954 until her retirement in 1977 at the former Bon-Ton Bakery in Davenport. She was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport, the Jolly Old Timers and Tri L. She was also active with the Collins House Senior Center, the museum guild, the Liedertafel, various card clubs, and CASI. In earlier years she had been active in the Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Halsey and her husband, Robert, of Davenport; two grandchildren, Kristin Aitchison and her husband, Peter, of St. Paul, Minn. and Jeffrey Halsey and his wife, Elizabeth, of Davenport; two great-grandchildren, Halsey and McKinnley. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, and a brother.
