Joyce Marie Hagen
November 5, 1963 - December 28, 2020

Williamsburg-Joyce Marie Hagen was born November 5, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa. The daughter of Richard and May (Sunken) Tiernan. She attended Lutheran Interparish School and graduated from Williamsburg High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Richard "Rick" Hagen on August 22, 1987 at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. Joyce has worked at Amana Bakery, Paul Reveres in Williamsburg and Paul Reveres if Chatsworth, Illinois. She enjoyed gardening, canning, collecting, sitting outside watching the birds and dogs. Joyce passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 57 years.

She is survived by her mother May Kruse of Williamsburg; 6 siblings, Mary (Paul) Morris of Santa Clara, Utah, Jean (Chuck) Finnegan of Oxford, Ralph Tiernan of Marion, CJ (Susan) Kruse of Victor, Charlie Kruse of Parnell and Jason Kruse of South Amana and numerous nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, husband Rick (January 21, 2020) a brother Donald Kruse and a sister-in-law Cathi Tiernan.

Private Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 10:30 on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. The service will be live streamed on the Powell Funeral Home website or facebook page. Burial will be St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Homestead. Memorial may be given to University of Iowa Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
