William Joseph Zeka
June 5, 1939 - December 29, 2020

William (Bill) J. Zeka, 81, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center following a short illness. A private family graveside service will be held at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 am. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
Bill was born June 5, 1939 to Pearl (Ewing) and Joseph Zeka, Jr. Bill married Nancy Lang of Fort Dodge on September 15, 1962; they later divorced. He was a longtime employee of George A. Hormel in Fort Dodge. Following closure of the Hormel plant, he worked in the office at Randall's Foods until his retirement. He also drove a school bus for the Fort Dodge Community School District for many years.
Bill loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and all sporting events including hunting, fishing, and rebuilding antique cars. He never missed an activity involving his children or grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his children, Mark (Judy) of Ames, Lori (Russ) Williams of Fort Dodge, and Brian (Lynn) of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, David (Morgan) Zeka, Elizabeth Zeka, Margaret Williams, Ryan, Kyle, Erin, and Evan Zeka, Matthew Bannerman and Elizabeth (Tyler) Newkirk; five great grandchildren; sister Evelyn Grandgeorge of Woolstock, and brother Donald (Sue) Zeka of Fort Dodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dean Grandgeorge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
