William "Bill" Lewis Schneider, 79, of Gladbrook, IA passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the church. Masks are required at Gladbrook United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be live-streamed on Anderson Funeral Homes Facebook page. Bill was born August 11, 1941 to Randall and Helen (Cold) Schneider in Burlington, IA. He graduated from Wapello High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Jean Fynquist on December 30, 1962 in Burlington. She died December 3, 1979. Bill married Linda Sass Pierce on June 13, 1981 in Gladbrook. He was employed at Iowa Southern Utilities before relocating to Lincoln, IA in 1976. Bill farmed the rural Lincoln, IA area, retiring ten years ago, but could be found still helping out around the farm. Bill was a member of the Gladbrook United Methodist Church and Lincoln Lions Club. He was a former member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department. Bill served on the school board for both Gladbrook and Gladbrook Reinbeck. He enjoyed watching trains, puzzles, playing cards, and fishing. Bill was an avid reader and Iowa State Cyclone fan.

Bill will be missed be missed by his wife, Linda. five children; Connie (David) McFadden of Spring Hill, FL, Tom (Melinda) Schneider of Council Bluffs, IA, Julie (Trey) Purvis of Knoxville, IA, Chad (Tammi) Pierce of Gladbrook, Tim Pierce of Gladbrook, 10 grandchildren, two sisters; Sandy (Bill) Negus of Waterloo, IA, Mary Beth (David) Dixon of Mountain Air, NM, and one brother, Jim (Mary) Schneider of Reinbeck. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean, his parents, and a son, Eric Pierce.
