Francis Schurk IOWA CITY - Francis I. Schurk, 87, of Fort Madison, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at King-Lynk Funeral Home. The Rev. Elliott George will officiate. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Kensington and left at the funeral home. Mr. Schurk was born June 15, 1912, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Frank and Mary Neal Schurk. He married Violet L. Doss. She died Aug. 26, 1994. He was a farmer and retired from W. A. Sheaffer Pen Co. with 26 years of service. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved working in his garden and planting flowers. Survivors include a son, William L. Schurk of Burlington; a daughter, Eileen Schurk of Muscatine; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, and two sisters.
