Ernest Eubanks MUSCATINE - Ernest Morris Eubanks, 84, of Coralville, formerly of Muscatine, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Pam Saturnia of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center. Ernest Eubanks was born on July 16, 1915, in Effingham, Ill., the son of Lewis Lafayette and Amelia Thomas Eubanks. He married Dorotha Hickman on Oct. 5, 1947, in Muscatine. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1937 with a bachelor's in chemical engineering. He was the first paid employee of Grain Processing Co. He started out as plant manager and rose to executive vice president, retiring in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Roberts and her husband, Paul, of Coralville; a son, Michael Eubanks of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jessica Eubanks, Sean McRoberts and Rachel McRoberts; and four children from a previous marriage, Stephen, Carolyn, Linda, and John. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorotha in July of 1997.
