"Dick and Janet's house was so much fun to play and grow up there with their kids. He was so proud of his hog operation as he should of been. Felt so welcomed there as a city girl playing in the hay bales, the tunnels they made, we thought they were the luckiest kids to live there, we didn't know the work that they had to do before they came to school everyday, all the boys are gentlemen. You couldn't get a better family, so sorry for his loss, will miss his stories about my Dad, the trouble they got into."

Richard "Dick" W. Stackhouse, 90 of Marshalltown, IA passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Grandview Heights Rehab & Healthcare in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, IA. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Interment will be at the Conrad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Conrad American Legion. The family would like to thank the staff of Grandview Heights for the exceptional care provided to Dick. Arrangements are entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes. Dick was born on December 9th, 1930, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Wayne Burdett and Dorothy Peril (Fiscus) Stackhouse. He graduated from the Conrad Consolidated School in 1948 and served our country honorably in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953. Dick maintained a lifelong commitment to various veterans' service organizations and was a past commander of American Legion Post 681 in Conrad IA.
On March 31st, 1957 he was united in marriage to, Janet Ann Hilsabeck, of Liscomb, Iowa. They settled into farming on the home place of Dick's grandfather near Albion, Iowa, where they raised three sons. In the 1970's they expanded their hog business with Dick serving several terms as president of the Marshall County Pork Producers and becoming an Iowa Master Pork Producer in 1977. He also served on the board of directors of Conrad Cooperative (now part of Mid-Iowa) and was active in many other farm organizations. Dick continued farming until health issues slowed him down this past year.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 63 years, Janet; their children: Kirk Stackhouse of Marshalltown IA, Kent (Deb) Stackhouse, of Waterloo IA; their grandchildren: Jessica Stackhouse, Brooke Stackhouse, and a sister, Lila (Lee) Kline of Des Moines.
Preceded in death are his parents Wayne (1963) and Dorothy (2002) and his eldest son Craig (2009).

Excellent farmer, livestock farmer and did his community work like being on the Coop Board like he was very proud to be there.
