MUSCATINE, Iowa - Suzanne Rapier Seeber, 77, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Suzanne Seeber was born on August 10, 1943, in Lancaster, Ohio, the daughter of Dorothy and William Rapier.

Suzanne graduated from Lancaster High School and from Ohio State University, where she was a dorm counsellor at Oxley Hall. She was also active in 4-H. She moved to Wisconsin and was Dane County 4-H agent and Home Economics teacher at Oregon High School while her husband did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin. Suzanne was active in University Methodist Church and did much to bring her textile art skills to bear in beautifying the church.

Kevin joined the family there in Wisconsin and they went to Brazil where James taught at The Federal University in Porto Alegre and Suzanne taught textile crafts. A daughter Marcia and son Alex joined the family in Brazil. The family then moved to Ithaca, New York, where she taught textile crafts at the Cornell Student Union and where she brought her textile crafts to the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Ithaca.

The family spent a year at University of California at Davis and lived in a Village Homes Solar Housing Coop. From there, they moved to Manhattan, Kansas where Suzanne completed a Doctoral Degree in education, while also teaching at Fort Riley Old Trooper University. Suzanne then taught at St. Ambrose College in Davenport.

Following retirement, she moved to an assisted living center and recently to a memory care unity and hospice, where she passed peacefully.

She is survived by her children, J. Kevin Converse of Rogers, Arkansas, Alex Converse of Guilford Lake (Lisbon) Ohio, and Marcia Broders (Karyn Converse) of Winchester, Virginia; former husband, James Converse of Youngstown, Ohio; and her brother, Richard of Columbus, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Louise.
