November 22, 1936 - January 3, 2021

Gayle Wilson 84, of Jefferson (formerly of Somers) passed away at home surrounded by family, on January 3,2021. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1:30 PM , following visitation from 10-12 that morning, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Township in Rinard.


Gayle is survived by her children, Shari (Brad) Guilliams of Fort Worth, TX, Tim (Janet) Wilson of Fort Dodge, Larry Jr. (Rena) Wilson of Rinard, Tammy (Bruce) Binkley of Jefferson; step-children, David (Yavonne) Wilson and Ellen (Willie) Millard both of Bellingham, WA; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren: and 1 great-great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Wilson, Sr.; 2 brothers, 2 sisters; step-son, Robby Wilson.


Gayle Roberta Chase was born November 22, 1936 in Fort Dodge where she was raised and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1954. On July 16, 1960 she was united in marriage to Larry Wilson Sr. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge where Gayle worked for Ben Franklin and Mayer Portraits. The couple eventually moved to Somers where they owned and operated G & L Grocery. Eventually Gayle retired after being the Calhoun County Outreach Director for over 30 years. In 2013, the couple moved to Jefferson, where Gayle enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never knew a stranger and saw everyone as equal and with potential. She always had a helping hand for anyone in need, She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
