Violet Pohlmann BENNETT - Violet Lucy Pohlmann, 92, of Bennett, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, from exposure. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fry Funeral Home. The Rev. Norman Anderson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hartwig, Rolland Meixner, Merton Burnett, Eldon Ford, Gary Myers, Jim Driscoll. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pohlmann was born April 19, 1907, in Cedar County, the daughter of John Clarence and Lucy Elizabeth Whitmer Ford. She married William Thomas Pohlmann in Iowa City. She was a homemaker. She received her education from the Cedar County school and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include three sisters, Viola Gritton and her husband, Clarence, of Tipton, and Geneveive Meixner of Atalissa; and Ellen Myers of Davenport; and three brothers, Jack Ford and his wife, Lorine, of Rochester, and Charles and Lawrence Ford, both of Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Ford; her husband, William Pohlmann; two sisters, Bertha Proctor and Nellie Schneider; and three brothers, Dan, Peter and Frank Ford.
