Mary Virginia Brown
Canton - Mary Virginia Brown, 96, a resident of Red Oak Estates, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Graham Hospital in Canton due to complications of COVID-19.
She was born on March 5, 1924 in Moberly, MO to Pressley and Mary Frances (Callaway) Halley.
She married Willis Brown on November 28, 1959 in Moberly, MO. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Marian Gaye (Marty) Rorer of TX, Becky (Jack) Eyman of Canton, Krista (Phil) Sepich of Canton, Lisa (Bill) Stewart of Canton, Gina (Gary) Ball of Canton, nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death is her parents, step daughter, Irene Hart, one brother and two grandchildren.
She worked at J.C. Penney's in Canton as the assistant manager in the ladies department. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and its Congeniality Club, the Outreach Circle and taught 2nd grade Sunday school.
A funeral service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11 am, with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the service.
Due to COVID restrictions masks and social distancing will be required.
Memorials may be made to the 1st Baptist Food Pantry.
