LAS VEGAS-Kathy A. Cook, age 72, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 8, 2021, at her home in Las Vegas.

Kathy was born December 29, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Betty Meier. She attended George Washington High School. Kathy was a barber at the Hiawatha Barber Shop for 38 years and the Sr. Programer at Transamerica for 24 years until her retirement. She enjoyed cross stitching, scrap booking, crocheting, scrabble, reading and her special friends: Di Anna Miller Mears, Marilin McDevitt, Dorothy Cook, Carroll St. John, Basha Tomalka and Charlene Meier.

She is survived by her three children: Amy Cook of North Pole, AK; James Cook of Las Vegas, NV and Michael and Agnieszka Cook of Bullhead City, AZ; four grandchildren: Jordan, Victoria, Alyeska and Jonathan; Di Anna Miller Mears (cousin and sister of heart); cooking buddy Milo Miller; two uncles: Bob (Jenny) Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA and Denny (Sue) Miller of Lakewood, CO; a niece: Rika Meier and many other loving cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and brother John (Jack) Meier.

Per Kathy's wishes, private burial will take place at Lafayette Cemetery in rural Keota. There will be no visitation.
