Rudolph "Rudy" Johns, 84, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Southridge Specialty Care of Marshalltown. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Rudy was born November 24, 1936, to Rudolph and Olga Johns in Austin, TX. Rudy was in part time school in Austin when he joined the Navy and completed his GED. He served majority of his time in San Diego for 20 years where retired in 1975. He met his life long best friend Shirley Finch in 1962. They later married in February 15, 1963 in Corpus Christi, TX. Rudy was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association(FRA), American Legion of Marshalltown, and Izaak Walton League. You could always find Rudy out in the field target shooting, spending time fixing things up and enjoying the company of his family.
Rudy will be missed by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Becky of Marshalltown, and Ann of Chula Vista, CA, and one granddaughter Jessie of San Diego, CA.
