Jean Cochren HOLTON, Kan. - Jean A. Cochren, 62, of Holton, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at the Jackson County Nursing Home in Holton. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. The body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the Jean A. Cochren Memorial Fund, and sent in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Cochren was born March 14,1938, in Oakville, the daughter of Alvie and Eva Pheister Tisor. She married Merle Cochren. They were divorced. She was a waitress for many years. She also owned E amp; J Pet Supplies and raised dogs. She worked at Holton Manor and Jackson County Nursing Home, cleaned homes for four years, and worked at the Red Roof Inn, all in Holton, and later at the Sac and Fox Casino. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include a step-daughter, Cheryl Wichman of Holton; a brother, Charles Geertz of Nichols; two sisters, Carolyn Yeater of Muscatine and Gloria McCandles of Burlington; two half sisters, Ruby Forbes of Jacksonville, Fla. and Gladys; two step granddaughters; seven step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ray Thomas, who died Feb. 14,1988.
