Gene ''Gene Bell'' Lamoreux

Gene Lamoreux MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gene "Gene Bell" Lamoreux, 59, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at his Muscatine home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Organist Betty Lincoln will provide musical selections. A luncheon will be served in the funeral home's community room following services. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice. Mr. Lamoreux was born July 14, 1940, in Lanark, Ill., the son of Gail and Jaranese Elliott Lamoreux. He married Pamela Leatherman on July 27, 1990, in Muscatine. He was previously married to Frances Bravard of Bushnell, Ill., and Audry McDaniel of Muscatine. He lived 40 years in Muscatine. He was an artist who did caricatures and wall plaques. He was also an avid Tom Mix fan and member of Virginia straightshooters. He was of the Catholic faith. He worked at TCI for more than 10 years until recently, then was self-employed as a videographer at Old Pard Video Productions. Survivors include his wife, Pam Lamoreux; a son, Steven and his wife, Kelly, Columbus City; a daughter, Laura Vlaning and her husband, Paul, Wadsworth, Ill.; stepchildren, Meredith and Brian Reed, Batesville, Ark., and Chelsea Reed, Muscatine; grandchildren, Alexis Lamoreux, Amanda and Marissa Vlaning; step grandchild, Alissa Pardy, Batesville, Ark.; mother, Jaranese Lamoreux, Muscatine; sisters, Bonnie Whitlock, Aledo, Ill., Sue Ann Weeks and her husband, Dennis, Aledo, Karen Swinford and her husband, Atlas, Muscatine; a half-sister, Neva Lamoreux, Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
