MUSCATINE, Iowa -Joe Anna Brooks, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Ms. Brooks was born on July 28, 1945, in Shelby County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Joe Louis and Lucy Mae Sherrod Brooks.

She was the second oldest of eight children, five preceded her in death. Ms. Brooks was educated at Dusable High School in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Brooks gave birth to five children who she raised and cared for until they reached adulthood. Ms. Brooks professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved working on puzzles and internet gambling. Upon moving to Muscatine, she always enjoyed helping others, she took on full custody of her first great granddaughter whom she raised and cared for 20 yrs. Ms. Brooks loved to cook big dinners, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. "To know her was to love her."

Ms. Brooks leaves to cherish her loving memory her five children, Lawrence Brooks, Howard Brooks, Rex Brooks (Yvonne), Patricia Brooks, and Lisa Brooks; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clotea Jones and Claudia Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
