MUSCATINE - Donald C. Kirk, 60, of 1658 58th St., died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Townsley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Joe Kirk, Todd Kirk, Shane Kirk, Gerald Kirk, Larry Kirk, and Albert Kirk. Honorary Bearers will be Gary Lane and Dan Kelly. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin Foundation Comprehensive Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Kirk was born on May 29, 1940, in Bloomington Township in Muscatine County, the son of Glen and Alberta Bernice Schell Kirk. He married Mo Kelly in 1961. He later married Jamie Wilhoit on December 28, 1974 in Argo. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and enjoyed golfing, fishing, snowmobiling, the University of Iowa "Hawkeyes", and was also a Dale Earnhart fan. He retired from Alcoa after 33 years of employment. Survivors include his wife, Jamie Kirk of Muscatine; three sons, Joe Kirk, Todd Kirk and Shane Kirk, all of Muscatine; one granddaughter, Sydney Paige Kirk of Muscatine; his mother, Bernice Brewer of Muscatine; three brothers, Gerald Kirk and his wife, Darlene, of Wapello, Larry Kirk and his wife, Shirley, of Durant, and Albert Kirk and his wife, Cheryl, of Davenport; and one sister, Nancy Hinz and her husband, Richard, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Kirk, and his step-father, Donald Brewer.
