Irene Morrison COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa #45;- Irene Morrison, 92, of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at the Colonial Manor Care Center Columbus Junction. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Indian Creek Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Morrison was born Sept. 5, 1908, near Fredonia, the daughter of Robert and Mamie Bliven Carey. She married William Dale 'Jiggers' Morrison on Feb. 24, 1927, in Columbus Junction. After their marriage the couple moved to New Boston, Ill. where they farmed for 17 years before moving back to Iowa and the Indian Creek Neighborhood. She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, baking and making her quilts. She was a member of the Emma Beckman Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Curry and her husband, Joe of Columbus Junction; her son, Richard Short Morrison and his wife, Pat, of New Boston, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Norma Morrison of Joy, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Keith Carey and his wife, Catherine of Columbus Junction. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale in 1991; two sons, Kenneth in 1979 and Ronald in 1994; and six brothers, Rex, Royce, Clayton, Tom, Robert, and Leith.
