MUSCATINE, Iowa - Janet C. Downey, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, in Muscatine.

Janet was born on October 21, 1937, in Muscatine, the daughter of Clyde and Erma Orris Rebelsky. She married Wilson Pat Downey on January 13, 1960, in Illinois City.
Janet sold Avon for many years, worked at the Muscatine High School in the cafeteria, and later at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course, all while helping her husband, Pat, with the farm. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching birds, knitting, and her daughter and grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Lori L. Hardman and her husband, Jack, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Jake Hardman and his wife, Ashley, of Muscatine and Paige Keeler and her husband, Bryce, of Muscatine; two great grandchildren, Chase, Thomas, and Averie who is due in March; and a sister, Rita R. Lamb and her husband, James, of Muscatine.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pat, in 1991, and one sister, Patricia Sprouse.
