In loving memory of

Max Swenson

On January 17, 2021 at 4:00 pm, Maxwell "Max" Swenson crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Max was born on August 20, 2005. His Mom, Carol Lee, rescued him from a football frat house at the University of North Dakota. Although Max was a tiny 5 lbs puppy who had the attitude of a Great Dane, but was simply too small to be safe with the football players. We knew he was scary smart the first evening in our hotel room. Max wanted to get on the other bed in the room. He knew he couldn't jump down and jump up to the other bed, so he looked around and saw the night stands. He went to the top of the bed and jumped on the night stand, walked across it and then jumped on the other bed. We were speechless!

Max loved carrying a big stick on his walks, and searching the entire house for the perfect place to hide a milk bone. We agreed if Max could talk he would sound exactly like Danny DeVito, because he was a tough little guy with a heart of gold. Max loved his people and loved to give us his sweet kisses. It is no exaggeration to say, Max was the sweetest little guy we've ever had in our lives.

Max had a stroke on Sunday very early in the morning. We hoped he would improve, but he didn't, and we realized there nothing we could do except let him go. Max never liked going to the vet, so we had the vet come to our house. Max peacefully passed from this earth to the next held by his Mom, and surrounded by the people he loved, including his sister Bella, and brother Samurai. Max took a big piece of our hearts when he left, but we know he left a piece of his heart with each one of us. We love you so much Maxie, now and forever.
