In loving memory of

Shellee Renee Van Hove
July 9, 1965 - January 21, 2021

Shellee Van Hove, 55, of Ames, Iowa, passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on January 21, 2021. Services will be held at a later date.

Shellee Renee was born on July 9, 1965 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Cora (Stecker) Hatfield. She was a graduate of Des Moines North High School, Class of 1983 as well as DMACC, with an associate degree in paralegal studies. Shellee married Trent Van Hove on July 21, 1984 in Titonka, Iowa. From this union, Teddy was born, and the family made their lives in Ames.

Shellee loved crafting, scrapbooking, traveling and shelling. From coast to coast, Shellee had been to many places; but one of her favorite destinations was Sanibel Island, Florida. She often spoke of the memories made there with her family. As much as she loved her human family, she cherished her Doberman fur-babies Cash, Coco, Diesel and Titan; who would keep her busy throughout the day.

Left to cherish Shellee's memory are her husband, Trent; son, Teddy; fur-babies, Cash, Coco and Titan; brother, Mark Hatfield; Sister, Jolene Cantrell and several nieces and nephews.

Shellee is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cora, and brother Jimmy Hatfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ames Animal Shelter.

"I?m so happy I got to know Shellee over the last 5 years since we got Our doberman from her. Her sunny personality came across loud and clear in every text or Email. Even more so, her love for her husband and son and her fur babies was unmistakable. I will greatly miss her text messages and updates and our enjoyable conversations. A beautiful human inside and out. Prayers to everyone she loved and held dear. "
