Douglas E. Suntken
May 28, 1966 - January 25, 2021

Douglas E. Suntken, 54, of Garner, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Perry, Iowa. He was born May 28, 1966, in Belmond, to Donald and Marlene (Waage) Suntken.

Doug graduated from Belmond High School, class of 1984. He was on the National Honor Society, wrestled and golfed for the Belmond Broncos. Doug furthered his education at Iowa State University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Stellar Industries Inc. in Garner for over 25 years as their IT Manager. Doug was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his grandson.

Doug is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Jeremy) DeBoer of Parkersburg; grandson Emmett DeBoer of Parkersburg; parents Donald and Marlene Suntken of Belmond; brother David (Dianne) Suntken of Ames; nieces Taylor Suntken of Kansas City, Missouri, and Regan Suntken of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Those in attendance are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times. Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
