Nita Rath RIVERSIDE, Iowa #45;- Nita Marie Rath, 77, of Riverside died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a short illness. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Riverside. Burial will be at Riverside Public Cemetery in Riverside. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Riverside United Methodist Church and the Riverside First Responders. Mrs. Rath was born April 13, 1924, in Riverside, the daughter of Edward and Ethel Vaughn Wingler. She married Donald Rath Nov. 6, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nev. She worked for many years at the Riverside Feed amp; Grain Company. She also owned and operated the NR Ceramic Shop in Riverside. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to sew and cook, and was well known for her homemade noodles and fried fish. Survivors include her husband, Donald of Riverside; a son, J. Dene Rath and wife, Marsha, of Riverside; two grandchildren, Gena Rath Vos and husband, Erik, of Ely and Aaron Rath of Riverside; a brother, Clayton Wingler and wife, Joyce, of Riverside; four sisters, Lura Sutton of Dayton, Ohio, Jean Kopf of Iowa City, Vaida Streb of Riverside, and Aletha Duder and husband, Donald, of Riverside. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Errol; a daughter, Karen Kaye Reilly; and a brother, Daryl Wingler.
