JOANN PETERS LETTS, Iowa - JoAnn Peters, 67, of 1547 235th St., Letts, died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Bales of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Gordy, Bob Lowe, Terry Townsley, Leon Arp, Shad Tisor, and Bob Bailey. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Muscatine First Assembly of God Church following the committal service. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the JoAnn Peters Memorial Fund. Mrs. Peters was born on June 13, 1934, in the rural Letts area, the daughter of Virgil and Sylvia McGrew Fuhlman. She married Robert E. Peters on April 3, 1955, at the Oak Grove Church in the Cranston area. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Muscatine. She taught junior high math at Louisa-Muscatine Community School. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Peters of Letts; one son, Lynn Peters and his wife, Patsy, of Wilton; four grandchildren, Shad Tisor of Iowa City, Jennifer Peters, of Muscatine, Austin Rock and Kristen Peters both of Wilton; one brother, Jim Fuhlman and his wife, Sharon, of Cedartown, Georgia; three sisters, Jean Foley and her husband, Pete, of Crystal Beach, Florida, Joyce Gordy and her husband, Ron, of Muscatine, and Julie Ericson and her husband, Barry, of Windsor Heights, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
