CELEDONIO RANGEL MUSCATINE, Iowa - Celedonio Rangel, 65, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Church, 417 Green Street. The Rev. Bernard Weir will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer Service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rangel was born on May 12, 1936, in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico. He married Virginia Bravo on March 8, 1958, in Mission, Texas. He retired from H.J. Heinz Company in 1979. Survivors include five sons, Gavino Rangel of Muscatine, Valentin Rangel of Wilton, Arnulfo Rangel of South Carolina, Miguel Rangel of Muscatine, and Benito Rangel of Muscatine; three daughters, Rosanna Medrano of Texas, Belen Marquez of Muscatine, and Adelaida Carranza of Muscatine; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters living in Mexico. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, in 1992, and one granddaughter, Sylvia Medrano in 1995.
